Staff Bios of Our Homeless Outreach
Kathy Slover is Director of Community Outreach Services at St. Vincent de Paul Center. Community Outreach Services includes the Homeless Outreach and Senior Services programs. Ms. Slover has over two decades experience in social services, focusing on senior and intergenerational programming, and volunteer coordination. Prior to joining St. Vincent de Paul Center, Ms. Slover worked for Hull House Association in a variety of volunteer-based programs for older adults. She has a B.A. from DePaul University, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Nonprofit Management degree from DePaul University.
Denise Howard has been Coordinator of the Homeless Outreach Program for eleven years. She was instrumental in making Outreach a CEDA application site, and in partnering with the Emergency Fund to help clients most at risk of becoming homeless. Ms. Howard is especially interested in helping ex-offenders become employed and housed. She is a graduate of Malcolm X College, and her background includes financial management positions.
Ronald Hargrave has been the Homeless Outreach Case Manager for two and a half years. In this position, Mr. Hargrave has focused on housing applications, and information and referral for job training, recovery and other client needs. He formerly worked for the Salvation Army and the Lakeview Pantry. Mr. Hargrave has an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health/Substance Abuse from Harold Washington College. His special interests are substance abuse recovery and housing.
