Impact & Outcomes

During the 2009/2010 year (7/1/09-6/30/10): 

• 620 children from over 50 Chicago neighborhoods received early childhood and after-school services.
• Programs allowed over 400 parents to attend work or school with the peace of mind that their children are being educated and cared for in an educational, nurturing and safe environment.
• 95% of parents who attended a parent group on topics including early literacy, early attachment and bonding, managing parental stress, and child abuse prevention, reported that they learned something valuable that they will apply to their daily life.
• 92% of parents reported that they are comfortable with what their child is learning and how their child’s progress is being measured.
• 90% of parents reported that their child’s teacher and program work with them to meet their child’s individual or special needs and help them get other resources within the community when needed(1).
• Teachers reported that 80% of the children who participated in a social skills groups, conducted by social workers, were able to express their emotions more appropriately and exhibited increased ability to self-soothe when upset.
